MATH PROJECT

Our 3rd grade classes will start working on a math project which they will have the opportunity to review most of the concepts already taught, such as measuring length and perimeter, arrays, time, temperature, type of subtraction and multiplication.

Before Christmas Holidays, they will design and create a representation of a gingerbread house with a written  description of all their work and relation to math concepts.Parents will be able to help at home. It's going to be fun!!!!

Nuestras clases de 3er grado estaran trabajando en un projecto de matematicas donde tendran la oportunidad de repasar la mayoria de los conceptos ya enseñados en clases, tales como medir longitud, perimetro, matrices, hora, temperatura, tipos de restas y multiplicacion.

Antes de las vacaciones de Navidad, ellos van a diseñar y crear una representacion de una casa de jengibre junto con una descripcion escrita de todo su trabajo y relacion con conceptos de matematicas. Los padres tendran la oportunidad de ayudarlos en casa.!Va a ser bien divertido!

Esta proxima semana empezaremos tambien nuestro "Intercambio de Tarjetas por las Festividades"con otras escuelas en los Estados Unidos, varias escuelas en Australia y Canada, una escuela en Slovakia, Singapore e Irlanda. Tambien mandaremos tarjetas por las festividades a hospitales de ninos y a los militares.
Con esta actividad los ninos practicaran como se escriben cartas y tambien geografia porque marcaremos en el mapa las diferentes ciudades de donde recibimos las tarjetas.

Sera super Chevere!!!!!!!!!!

Next week we will begin our "Holiday card exchange" with other schools in the US, a couple of schools in Canada and Australia, a school in Slovakia, Singapore and Ireland. We will also send cards to children hospitals and the military.
With this activity the kids will practice how to write letters and will also learn geography because we will mark on a map all the different cities from where we get the cards.

It will be LOTS of FUN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hola, espero que todos hayan tenido un buen dia de Accion de Gracias. Esta semana que empezamos el lunes, comenzaremos con una nueva unidad en lenguaje "Drama", ya puedo oir los gritos de felicidad de algunas de mis ninas :)
Aprenderemos sobre los elementos del drama, y haremos inferencias usando obras de teatro.

En escritura empezaremos a escribir Composiciones Expositorias, las cuales son diferentes a las Composiciones Narrativas que hemos estado escribiendo.

Hello, I hope you all had a nice Thanksgiving Day. This coming week, we will begin during Reading with a new unit "Drama." I can already hear the screaming of joy from some of my girls :)
We will learn the elements of drama and we will do inferences using plays.

In writing, we will begin to write Expository Compositions, which are different from the Narrative Compositions we have been writing.
